Meet Your Acupuncturist
Paulina Chua, R.Ac.
Long before it became my profession, acupuncture and Chinese Medicine were a natural, deeply woven part of my upbringing as a second-generation Chinese-Canadian. My journey to becoming a practitioner ultimately bridged two worlds: a foundational background in Western science and a deep respect for traditional and cultural practices.
I graduated with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude) from Pacific Rim College’s Acupuncture program, and furthered my studies directly at the source, receiving training at clinics and hospitals in Beijing, China. Complementing my acupuncture practice, I am also a Clinical Herbalist, having completed a three-year diploma in Phytotherapy, bringing over 1,000 hours of clinical experience to your care.
As a general practitioner, my practice is open to patients at all stages of health, to support a wide range of conditions. Some areas of interest include acute and chronic pain relief, sleep disorders, emotional regulation, mental health, digestive health, stress, and respiratory conditions. I also have a dedicated clinical interest in hormonal regulation - guiding individuals through menstrual and menopausal changes, as well as fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum care.
My approach is centred around creating a safe space, and on meeting individuals exactly where they are. By working together, we can get to the root of your health concerns, gently supporting your body in remembering its own natural intelligence and innate capacity to heal.
I carefully select various practices and techniques - including acupuncture, fire cupping, moxibustion, channel palpation, bloodletting, Tui Na, Qi Gong, and Shi Liao (TCM food therapy) - to honour the unique needs of each individual.
Are you ready to work together? Let’s talk.
